Jail Break

I have to say that I am fairly surprised that Lainey has yet to make a jail break from her crib. She doesn't even seem interested. Ellis was a late crawler, late walker, and took a while to be interested in climbing. So we were very shocked the day when he was "taking a nap", and he was in his bedroom floor out of the blue. Brian was so dumbfounded by it he thought I actually picked Ellis up and set him on his floor instead of making him nap. So he just put him back in the crib, and then a few seconds later, kerplunk. And that was the end of the crib at 21 months or so.

Lainey physically has done everything faster than Ellis, and is much more likely to "get into" stuff. Yet with the crib she doesn't even try. Even when she doesn't want a nap, it is like it doesn't occur to her. The other day the kids were in her room and Ellis was trying to climb into her crib, I freaked. I was like don't teach her that!

Unlike Ellis, who after a few trying rounds of naps, learned to stay in his bed, I don't think that Lainey will do as well. He actually still doesn't get out of his bed after nap or in the mornings without permission. I am slightly worried that Lainey will be the kind of kid that tries to come crawl in the bed with us, and that is a no go in this house.

We honestly share everything with our kids, our time, thoughts, food, everything, except our bed or anything in our bedroom, bathroom, and closet. It is our adult zone. We deserve privacy and a kid free space, well at least that is what we think.

So we will see about the jail break. I officially consider us on a count down, because I honestly don't think she will stay much longer, then the battle of "STAY IN YOUR BED" will begin. Mentally prepping ;0). Lainey is one tough stubborn cookie!
